Hey there, it’s been around three months since the Dance Unit FINALS 2025 in Oberhausen, but now we’re back with some big news coming soon. Before we look ahead, let’s take a moment to revisit the past.

The Dance Unit Team is always working hard to make sure the competitions run smoothly and create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. It is a lot of effort, but always worth it, because we know how much work, sweat, and passion every contestant invests in bringing such graceful and powerful works of art to the stage. We want to thank each and every artist for their dedication and for making the FINALS what they are: a true celebration of the art of dance.

The Events of the FINALS

The Competitions

After a long season of competitions and three days of communing, dancing, and performing, prizes have been awarded and the winners for each categorie have been chosen – thanks to the dedication of our 30 jury members. It was by no means easy to choose a winner, as every single dancer delivered an outstanding performance and brought their own unique artistry to the stage.

GO-Masters V🎉💃🌍

Another important part of the Finals was GO-Masters V, which transformed the London Hall of the Luise-Albertz-Halle into a hub of creativity and inspiration through its workshops. Over three unforgettable days, thousands of dancers gathered to take part about 10 sessions led by renowned choreographers and leading figures from the international dance scene.

Each 90-minute workshop was more than just a class: it was an experience. Participants immersed themselves in new techniques, discovered fresh perspectives, and felt the passion and artistry that make dance such a powerful form of expression. GO-Masters V added an inspiring dimension to the Finals, reminding everyone that the journey of learning and growth is just as meaningful as the competition itself.

Auditions🌟👀

One of the most moving parts of the Finals were the auditions, where dreams met opportunity. International partners gave dancers the chance to be seen, to take a step closer to their aspirations, and to transform passion into possibility. For many, it was not just an audition it was the beginning of a journey toward the future they have always dreamed of🏆.

The GALA

✨ The Gala itself was a night full of magic and emotions. Surrounded by an atmosphere of joy, anticipation, and applause, the dancers received not only awards and scholarships but also recognition for their creativity, artistry, and perseverance. Every cheer, every spotlight, and every tear of happiness turned this moment into something unforgettable, something everlasting.

The True Spirit of the Finals

🌍 More than a closing event, the FINALS were a symbol of what Dance Unit stands for: even though prizes were awarded, the true focus lies in unity, cultural exchange, and the boundless inspiration of dance to connect people beyond borders, age or gender. As confetti rained down and music filled the hall, it became clear that the Finals are not just about competition, but about creating lasting memories and inspiring a community that continues to grow year after year. And to carry this philosophy forward, we strive to give our community something lasting for the future a true springboard for careers 🌟💃

The Actable Special Award: A dancer will receive a full year of premium dancewear, including pointe shoes and be accompanied on her journey through social media spotlights

Audition Programm

Example: Investing in Creativity and the Future

The most inspiring moment was the Dance Unit GALA on May 3. An international jury awarded Grants and Special Prizes, not based on rankings but on originality, creativity, and artistic expression. It became clear that this platform exists to celebrate bold ideas and reward authenticity.

The Joffrey Ballet School also offered additional scholarships and funding opportunities, including:

• Summer Intensive Program Scholarships for emerging talents
  
• A $400 scholarship toward a two-week Summer Intensive Program
  
• BFA Trainee Program Scholarships – worth over 15.000$ for a dancer aged 14–25 in New York City for a whole year

The Dance Unit FINALS are more than just a competition. They are a meeting point for culture, education, and innovation. For four days, Oberhausen became the epicenter of dance, bringing together performers, coaches, international schools, and cultural institutions.

The event not only showcased extraordinary artistic performances, but also highlighted the values of creativity, resilience, and community. In doing so, it created an atmosphere that resonates far beyond the stage. One that inspires audiences, empowers young talent, and strengthens cultural exchange across borders.

We thank every single person who made this unforgettable journey possible. For now, the curtain slowly falls on this year’s FINALS but as this curtain falls, a new one is already rising behind it, a new story is about to be born and we’ll soon be ready to share it with you.
